Since 1982 Jon Weir has been working exclusively in the exterior wall industry (it is hard to believe that our first AutoCAD design was the 1999 Avenue of the Stars project back in 1987). This design and consulting work has taken him to almost every continent in the world engaging Clients, designing exterior wall systems and providing consulting services on projects from beginning to end. In 2004, he began JA Weir Associates to continue this work and to serve Clients in the manner in which they deserve.
JA Weir Associates is a small company by design. We may grow in the future but not enough to outgrow our mission to ensure that the Client receives the services offered by experienced personnel. We will continue to offer services based on experience which will be accurate, consistent and available when you need it.
The size of a firm does not limit the size or complexity of a project undertaken. Again, it is the experience that is paramount to a successful project - not how many people are in the office or how many offices are listed on the letterhead.
JA Weir Associates uses its professional affiliations including AAMA, ASTM (including committee E06 for testing standards) and the Glass Association of North America to stay abreast of current trends in the industry. Jon participated on the Building Envelope Contractors Conference consultant's board in 2005 with other leading names in the industry. He also continues his role in reviewing and approving test standards for ASTM each year.
Supplementing our experience in new work is our assistance in due diligence work throughout the United States. This work both helps the Client understand the condition of their acquisition but also keeps us up to date on all aspects of exterior wall design.
